A statement to "Ikhwanweb" by defense lawyer Abdul Monem Abdul Maqsud stressed his dismay to the prosecutor's decision who ordered their continued detention. The extended decision is unwarranted, particularly as release orders were issued to other detainees merged in the same case. Dr Mahmoud Ezzat, the MB deputy chairman, had been released earlier this month with other members from the Executive Bureau who were arrested in early February. "The decision is not based on any law or constitution" the lawyer said, adding "It is completely unjustified and groundless".
