The ruling NDP had originally rejected the proposal for discussion but were overruled and PA speaker Dr. Fathi Sorour agreed to the request. It is expected that the Irrigation Minister will make a statement in response to Sorour's summoning.
Jaafari stressed that the upstream Nile countries insistence to hold agreements which excluded Egypt and Sudan was unacceptable. He pointed out that this exclusion would post a great threat to Egypt and its waters. The MP added the Israelis occupation Authority's constant scheming to take over the area's waters particularly in Burundi and Ethiopia must not be taken lately.
