Abdul Qoddous Equates Mubarak’s Regime With IOF

Mohamed Abdul Qoddous, the head of the Press Syndicate’s freedoms committee, said after he was released last Saturday evening that Mubarak’s regime proved that there is no difference between it and the Israeli occupation forces (IOF): Israel prevented the Palestinians from committing the prayer in Al Aqsa Mosque and Mubarak’s forces prevented worshippers from committing the prayers in Al-Azhar mosque .
 
Concerning what happened last Friday, Abdul Qoddous said in statements to Ikhwanweb:"The security forces arrested and beat me in front of Al-Azhar mosque and my arm was broken during the attack and they tore the Egyptian flag because I refused to obey their demands of leaving the place after they closed the doors of Al-Azhar mosque .
 
Abdul Qoddous added that:" They detained me in Al-Dhaher police station till the prosecution ordered me released and they moved me to Minshiyat Nasser police station and I remained there for several hours until they released .me
 
The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) member pointed out that these repressive exercises of the Egyptian regime prove that the regime’s allegations of seeking political reform are mere illusions.
 
Abdul Qoddous, a an active member in the Kifaya (enough) movement, has been beaten several times by the security forces, the latest of which was last Friday during a demonstration staged by national powers in Al-Azhar mosque to protest at the Israeli aggressions on Al Aqsa Mosque .
 
Abdul Qoddous, 52, is one of the most prominent Islamic journalists and he was reelected several times in the board of the Press Syndicate.
