Ambassador Mahmoud Karem Secretary-General of the National Council for Human Rights asserted that 14 Egyptian human rights organizations from different provinces have called for supervision during the upcoming Shura Council elections.

Ambassador Mahmoud Karem Secretary-General of the National Council for Human Rights asserted that 14 Egyptian human rights organizations from different provinces have called for supervision during the upcoming Shura Council elections.

 

During a press conference Karem confirmed that a 10 day period would be open for the requests regarding elections and permits handed in.

 

Makram Mohamed Ahmed, Chairman of the Journalists Syndicate is responsible for monitoring the election operation office. He asserted that complaints of violations against the supervisors or voters during the electoral process are to be submitted to the office. A handbook is currently being prepared for the poll supervisors in an effort to guide them through the elections and to inform them of their roles and rights
