GAZA, -- Head of the Popular Committee Against the Siege (PCAS) MP Jamal al-Khudari, thanked Egypt for opening the Rafah border crossing for the past six days allowing about 6000 passengers to travel in both directions.

He said in a statement that on Friday that the opening of the crossing alleviated the suffering of those who needed to travel for medical treatment, students joining their universities and people employed abroad whose visas were running out.

He called on Egypt to regularly open the crossing for humanitarian cases, as a prelude to opening it in permanently and he stressed the special and strategic ties between Egypt and the Gaza Strip.

At the same time, Khudari praised the Palestinian Ministry of Interior and the Border Crossings Authority for the smooth running of the crossing and facilitating the entry and departure of Palestinian citizens in an orderly manner.
