![]() Ruling regime threatens private satellite owners
Recent threats by government officials were made to independent satellite owners ordering them not to host any members from the political opposition during the upcoming Shura, parliament and presidential elections

The government's strict regulations came as a precaution as authorities feared the satellite Channels may negatively effect the ruling NDP
Recent interviews of opposition leaders such as Dr. Mohamed Badie Muslim Brotherhood chairman, Dr. Mohamed ElBaradei from the National Assembly for change' and Ghad Party leader Ayman Nour have been viewed as threats as they were given full opportunity to express their views and criticisms of the system freely
A list was given to the Dream, Hayat, and Mehwar channels ordering them to review the guest list who were to appear on their programmes warning them that if they were to air the programmes and failed to respond to their demands they would face severe punishments and the regime would publicize numerous documents which would ultimately cause their downfall |
