Muslim Brotherhood chairman Dr. Mohammed Badie called on the  Islamic and Arab governments to assume their responsibility towards Palestine and take a firm stand against the Israeli military attack om the Freedom flotilla early dawn, which resulted in the death of nearly 20 international activists and wounding more 60 others

In an interview with al Jazeera news channel, Dr. Badie stated that nation is now facing a defining moment long awaited by the entire world. He stressed that the United Nations must now take a stand against the Israeli military's aggression and its violations of international law 

He added "We do not want hollow statements, denunciations, and condemnation. we want accountability, trials, and punishments". He appealed to the countries that had victims and hostages captured by the Israeli military to defend their citizens and their rights

Badie concluded his interview addressing the world's leaders calling on them to "cut off the negotiations both direct and indirect [with Israel], and sever all ties with the Israeli authorities, and to stand up and protect  their people
