Shura council elections have not taken off well as police and security officials banned both candidates and voters from reaching the ballot boxes in Qalyubeya, in addition to having the voters lists swapped. Mohamed Abdul Magid Desouky, MB Shura candidate, was prevented from entering and meeting with the people on the grounds that he needed to submit overdue forms for his delegates. Speaking to Ikhwanweb,  he stressed that the measures taken against opposition are an indication of the NDP's true intentions of rigging the elections

Similar incidents took place in Sharqiya and Alexandria as the delegates had the appropriate documents necessary to monitor the voting process, but were also banned from entering the polling stations. Officials claimed that they were given orders not to allow the MB delegates' entry

Furthermore, thugs were hired in the Beheira constituency to attack voters and candidates. Armored trucks surrounded the area turning the place into military barracks

In Daqahliya MB filed 3 complaints against the Interior Ministry's violations and voting irregularities
