Brotherhood approves law protecting workers' rights
The People's Assembly's Plan and Budget Committee agreed in principle to a bill presented by "Ahmed Ezz, NDP secretary general and Chairman of the People's Assembly Planning and Budget Committee to ensure the preservation of the workers' rights in the event of companies' liquidation or bankruptcy

MB MP Hussein Ibrahim expressed the Muslim Brotherhood parliamentary bloc's approval on the bill, pointing out that they would support any law drafted to defend the workers interests adding "I will not pay attention to a law seconded in the closing weeks of this parliament as a kind of electoral propaganda," He maintained that he hoped the Chairman of the Parliament's Plan and Budget Committee would approve the motions submitted to modify the agreements for the Egyptian workers asserting that some of received less than minimal wages while others are paid up to one million pounds. Premium paid to workers does not exceed 10%, while ministers receive a 100% bonus. |
