The Muslim Brotherhood offshoot's Shura Council President Ali Abul Sukkar ascertained that he was positive that the meeting will end well since both sides agreed to avoid intervening with the polls.

According to sources Abul Sukkar believed that the assembly will be the initial stage in ending the predicament in order for them to concentrate on more important issues facing the country and the region. Sukkar claimed that all members were welcome to compete for vacant posts stressing that there would be no influence from outside groups.

He called on all who wished to participate and run for the secretary general to come forward and present their names without fearing prejudice. Potential candidates who have been suggested by both sides include Murad Adayleh, Saad Saadat and Abdul Hameed Qudah. Sources have revealed that Ben Rashid could again run as a probable nominee despite his recent decision to pull out of the elections.

The party had lately witnessed slight rifts between the members , since one division favored interaction with the Palestinian Hamas while the other group preferred focusing on local issues.
