MP's from the Muslim Brotherhood and independents political opposition objected to the decision to end this year's Parliamentary session maintaining that more than 100 MP's had in fact submitted an appeal to the President calling for the extension of the parliamentary session to discuss and make a resolution to a drafted law on exercising political rights by the current MP's

In a statement to 'Ikhwanweb" Dr. Mohammed Beltagui Assistant Secretary-General of the MB parliamentary bloc expressed anger at the rejection by the NDP stressing it was imperative that a decision regarding the issue be made before wrapping up this years parliamentary session so as not to leave any strings hanging. He maintained that it was necessary that parliament discuss the legal rights and requirements of the political law

Dr. Mohamed Saad Katatni, head of the parliamentary bloc of the Muslim Brotherhood added that the law was expected to place guarantees for free and fair procedures to the upcoming parliamentary elections. He pointed out that it was significant that the law be discussed to avoid the  repeated violations of the constitution  which took place in the midterm Shura Council elections early June where wide spread rigging, thuggery and bribery took place
