National Council for Human Rights reports hampering of Shura Council’s elections
The National Council for Human Rights stated that the Supreme Committee for Elections of the Shura Council ignored complaints regarding security services which refused to grant monitoring permits, preventing the supervisors from overseeing the elections.

During the Council's second monthly meeting discussions took place reagarding the statement to be issued on the murder of Khaled Saed. Hafez Abu Seada, Chairman of the Egyptian Organization for Human rights incriminated the Council for its long silence and passive stance. A statement is expected to be issued concerning the coroner's report on Saed's autopsy calling for a transparent the investigation and punish of perpetrators if they were proven guilty. |
