Barak extends ban on Sheikh Sabri's access to Aqsa Mosque
Israeli war minister Ehud Barak has decided to extend the entry ban into the Aqsa Mosque's plazas on Sheikh Ekrema Sabri, the head of higher Islamic authority, for six months.

Barak claimed that the extension was based on the emergency law and recommendations of security apparatuses which believe that Sheikh Sabri's entry into the Mosque might disturb public security and safety.

The Israeli occupation authority had earlier adopted a series of racist decisions against the Sheikh, who is a preacher at the Aqsa, including a ban on the travel abroad of Sheikh Sabri until 27/9/2010 at the pretext that his departure would harm "the state's security".

Sheikh Sabri has been banned from accessing the holy site for the past nine months under an Israeli military order.
