The Cairo Criminal Court issued on Wednesday a ruling of releasing 42 of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) students on Al-Azhar case No. 963 stat security of the year 2006 after the Higher State Security Prosecution prolonged their jail during the past weeks .

Abdul Monem Abdul Maqsoud, the MB lawyer, lodged an appeal in which he challenged the Higher State Security Prosecution’s decision of jailing the defendants; the court decided in today’s session to upheld the appeal in form and content, and cancel the prosecution’s jail decision and ordered releasing them .

Abdul Monem Abdul Maqsoud considered that today’s release ruling confirms that the case is politically motivated and that there is no criminal evidence .

He added that the defense panel will lodge within the coming days appeals on decisions of jailing other detainees involved in the case.
