The Higher State Security Prosecution released, on Tuesday, student Ayman Hashem, a fourth grader in the Faculty of Commerce, Helwan University, after remaining in prison since he was arrested last Nov., 5, 2006.

In the same context, it prolonged the jail of nine other Helwan University students for fifteen more days, including student Ibrahim Rabiey Ibrahim, a fourth grader.

Prolonging the detentions comes amid a campaign of dismissals and disciplinary boards in Helwan University against about 30 Muslim Brotherhood students from the Faculties of Commerce, Social Service, Education, Arts and Sciences and others, as the students were dismissed for one, two or three full years or for a term in addition to denying them access to exams.

It is worth mentioning that the student Ibrahim Rabiey Ibrahim whose detention has been prolonged today was dismissed on Wednesday Jan., 24, 2007, for two full years along with 16 others from the Faculty of Commerce, although he has been detained during the last three months.
