The Sawaseya Centre for Human Rights and anti-discrimination condemned the exclusion of Khairat Al-Shater, the Muslim Brotherhood Deputy Chairman and other MB leaders, who were serving unjust sentences served by a military tribunal from the presidential pardon issued in commemoration of the July 23^rd revolution.

The exclusion of those detainees from release illustrates the regimes arbitration against political  opposition which were tried  by an exceptional judiciary which is  contradictory to the law, constitution and international conventions on human rights  which was formerly ratified by Egypt.

 Sawaseya added that the regime not only insists on violating the rules of the judiciary which ordered their release but insists on applying the same suppressive policies against politicians who call for reform.

It ascertained that the regime has thwarted all means of dialogue and negotiations with the political opposition in Egypt adopting a vindictive attitude. It warned that the continued animosity would not benefit the country and would only result in the spread of chaos and instability in Egypt .

Sawaseya urged the regime to engage in dialogue with the political opposition and release all political detainees, and to abstain from referring civilians to military courts, and to abolish the referrals of political detainees to exceptional courts
