The sources said that IOF forces attacked participants in the weekly march against confiscation of land and expansion of settlement activity in Beit Ummar, firing a barrage of stun grenades and tear gas at participants who came to the vicinity of an Israeli settlement, which was established on Palestinian private property.

According to the sources, journalist Amir Abidin suffered breathing difficulties and wounds in his right hand after losing consciousness. News photographer Abdul Hafiz Hashlamoun also suffered breathing difficulties.

20-year-old Heba Abu Maria, a female participant in the march, and Ahmed Khalil Abu Hashim, coordinator of the National Committee against the Separation Wall, suffered breathing difficulties from heavy gas in the area.

The IOF had declared the area a closed military zone and prohibited entry except with permission from Israeli military.

In separate instances, Israeli forces arrested 23-year-old university student Shadi Shaheen from al-Khalil after raiding his house and taking him to an unknown destination.

Shaheen was reportedly kidnapped by Abbas’s militia in a prior incidence and remained in prison for more than six months before being released a short time ago.
