The number of signatures collected for the Muslim Brotherhood and NAC online petitions calling for political reform and constitutional amendments have exceeded 500,000 signatures combined. The MB website has secured 447,000 signatures alone while the NAC website has acquired 93, 000.

 The number of signatures collected for the Muslim Brotherhood and NAC online petitions calling for political reform and constitutional amendments have exceeded 500,000 signatures combined. The MB website has secured 447,000 signatures alone while the NAC website has acquired 93, 000.

The online campaign was launched by the MB chairman Dr. Mohamed Badie with the goal of collecting 1 million signatures in an attempt to pressure the regime into relaxing the restrictive regulations on parties and political opposition who intend to field candidates in the upcoming parliamentary elections

 
The call for change highlights 7 demands including
 
Ending the state of emergency
 
The empowerment of the Egyptian judiciary to supervise the full electoral process
 
Monitoring of the elections by local and international civil society organizations
 
Providing equal opportunities in the media for all candidates, especially in the presidential election
 
Enabling Egyptians abroad to exercise their right to vote in embassies and consulates in Egypt
 
Ensuring the right to stand in presidential elections without arbitrary restrictions in line with Egypt 's obligations under the International Convention for Civil and Political Rights, and limiting the right to run for the presidency to two terms
 
Elections by individual identification social numbers
 
 
In order to attain the listed procedures and safeguards amendments to articles 76, 77 and 88 of the Constitution must take place as soon as possible
