Following the statements by Mohamed Ali Ibrahim, editor in chief of al-Gomeherya the state owned paper in which he claimed that the NDP is under a conspiracy to oust it from power, the Forum of Independent Human Rights Organizations condemned the suppression, terrorizing and harassments of the Egyptian politicians who call for providing guarantees for free and fair parliamentary and presidential elections as well as introducing constitutional amendments for free and competitive elections.

The Forum monitored the attacks against the peaceful car rally in Alexandria and the re-arrests, detentions, assaults against the participants and protestors who were peacefully calling for political reform and democracy.
It condemned the Attorney General's office for carrying out the immediate investigations of complaints against citizens who voiced criticism against the government, NDP or any candidate running for presidency.
It stressed that the presence of double standards, using the Emergency law in restricting freedoms against political opposition threatens the future of the political process in the future.
The forum warned the state apparatus' officials not to submit to certain individuals or parties since they are committed to law and must remain impartial during elections as breaching this impartiality would affect the political and legal process of the elections and the official results.
The NDP had rigged past elections preventing any candidate from the opposition to win.
Ibrahim, defended the NDP participates and conforms to transparent elections and is subject to conflict from its opposition, describing the NDP as the “Brave warrior”!
Mustafa al-Feqqi from the NDP party had stressed however that the forging of elections is a necessity for the national security.
Egypt is currently being controlled by a group of businessmen who are responsible for its underdevelopment and deterioration in addition to the citizens' discontent.
