National and political activists organized a protest in Alexandria in solidarity with the family of Khaled Saeed Alexandria's torture victim and Mohamed Saad Turk, a student who has been missing since July 2009.

On 6 July 2009, Turk left his house in Rasheed city in the Beheira governorate, to have a walk by the Nile during which the city had a high security presence since the president was to visit the city; however he did not return and has been missing since.

His father approached the  state security in Damanhur and sent many faxes to President Mubarak, the  Interior Minister, the Attorney General and many other prominent figures however to date has not received any responses or news of his son's whereabouts.

Muslim Brotherhood MP Abdel Hamid Zaghloul also submitted an urgent question to the Interior Minister as to the disappearance of Turk in 2009, during the preparations for the visit of President Mubarak to the city.
