Lawyers will not be prevented from monitoring elections
The Sharia Committee and the Freedoms Committee at the Lawyers Syndicate has begun receiving applications from lawyers wishing to monitor the upcoming parliamentary elections under the initiative “A Lawyer for Each Ballot Box”.

The Sharia Committee and the Freedoms Committee at the Lawyers Syndicate has begun receiving applications from lawyers wishing to monitor the upcoming parliamentary elections under the initiative “A Lawyer for Each Ballot Box”. Mohamed Towson, Rapporteur for the Sharia Committee, stressed that lawyers were keen on supervising the elections and implementing free and fair elections. He asserted that unlike judges, they would not be prevented by the government, from performing this role. In a statement to Ikhwanweb, Mohamed el-Domyaty, Rapporteur for the Freedoms Committee, maintained that a request would be submitted to the Supreme Committee for Elections with the names of the lawyers wishing to volunteer in monitoring the elections in order to begin official procedures. |
