National political opposition in the Daqahleya governorate denounced the unjust arbitrary arrest of 10 Muslim Brotherhood members hours after the group’s chairman announced it would take part in the elections.

In a statement to Ikhwanweb, Talat  Mamoun, a member of the People's Committee to advocate Palestine argued that measures practiced against the MB leaders were contradictory to allegations and assurances by government officials who had maintained that the elections would be run in a free and fair atmosphere

He described the arrests as scandalous and called on the community, Jurists and politicians to confront the aggression and condemn the barbaric arrests. Mamoun expressed appal at the regime’s insistence to oppress any hint of dissident or opposition.
