The Muslim Brotherhood, members in the Egyptian governorate of Sharqeya has announced the names of 11 members nominated to run in the upcoming parliamentary elections including one female contender.

The Muslim Brotherhood, members in the Egyptian governorate of Sharqeya has announced the names of 11 members nominated to run in the upcoming parliamentary elections including one female contender.

 

The group’s chairman Dr. Mohamed Badie had confirmed over the weekend that the MB will participate in the elections and field candidates competing for 30% of the seats available.

 

Dr. Amir Bassam, spokesman for the Muslim Brotherhood in the Sharqeya region announced at a press conference held today that the names of the people nominated were decided on by the MB executive bureau after consultation by the group’s Shura council. He explained that the names announced were an initial list and a permanent list will be declared once dialogue is completed with other opposition parties and political forces.
