The Muslim Brotherhood opposition group has maintained that it plans to field a total of 132 candidates in the upcoming parliamentary elections, slated for November 28. MB MP Saad Husseini asserted that 66 members are already in fact sitting members of parliament. Originally 154 members were listed to compete for 30% of the available seats however alterations have been made.

During the 2005 elections 88 seats were secured in the polls in an unprecedented success for the group which was not met with lightly by the regime. Sources have revealed that the NDP vows there will not be a repeat of the group’s win in the elections.
