On Saturday, Alexandria witnessed over a dozen demonstrations amid tightened security around Muslim Brotherhood activists. The demonstrations were initiated to inform the people of Alexandria that all Brotherhood candidacy applications for the parliamentary elections had been accepted.
Flags and placards with pictures of Brotherhood parliamentary candidates were raised while slogans were chanted.

According to eyewitnesses, intense clashes broke out between protesters and security forces in Mina al-Basal, Bab al-Sharque and Karmouz districts, after security forces compelled demonstrators to end their protest. Display windows in nearby stores were reportedly damaged as a result of the clashes. In some areas, however, protests were held without any disturbance.

Security forces at Raml station allowed the demonstrations to continue for over two hours. In some areas, protests were held without clashes.
Up to 20, 000 demonstrators participated in the protests which were held simultaneously throughout Alexandria.
