Two MPs of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB), Yousry Tealab and Ali Ismail, from al-Shuhadaa constituency held a strike inside the police station in Monoufeya governorate calling for the release of nine of their supporters including a 9-year-old child who accompanied his father in a march for MB candidate, Tealab.

In a statement to Ikhwanweb, Ali Ismail said: "We will continue to strike inside the police station until the supporters of MP Tealab are released".

He added: "We were committed to the decision to promote and began our first march without any legal mottos inside the village of the MP; however, we were surprised by the arrest of the MP's supporters, including a 9-year-old child. The National Ruling Party uses illegal promotions everywhere in the city and the village and is not being stopped with the use of any kind of force like they use against us".
