Former MP Ahmed Abu Zeid said the current political situation could lead to collapse unless it is corrected, adding that any reform or change aspired to is entirely in the hands of President Hosni Mubarak.

According to Former NDP MP Ahmed Abu Zeid Egypt's current political situation may lead to a complete downfall unless it is corrected. He asserted that any reform or change must be advocated by President Hosni Mubarak.
 
In an interview to Al-Masry Al-Youm he maintained that  in reality the ruling National Democratic Party's popularity failed to exceed three percent, adding that the party is run  by a few elite who do not work to serve the masses causing the party to lose its credibility.
 
Abu Zeid believed that the Muslim Brotherhood may not secure any seats in the upcoming parliamentary elections. He predicted however that the Wafd Party, which apparently is the current NDP's favoured, will occupy all the seats that the Muslim Brothers had won in the 2005 elections.
 
He warned of what he described as "savage capitalists" within the ruling party and the government who, he ascertained, have reduced society into one two classes; one very rich and the other very poor.
