In a desperate measure state security forces in Kafr el-Sheikh set fire to a house after throwing a lighted cloth onto a banner promoting a Muslim Brotherhood candidate.

The banner caught fire; however, local residents and neighbours were able to contain and extinguish the flames before the whole house caught on fire.

Recent nationwide hostility against MB members, candidates and their supporters indicate that the regime is feeling unstable in the run up to elections.
