Security forces launched campaigns on Sunday against a rally for Muslim Brotherhood candidates in Kafr El-Sheikh consistency, Abdullah Mesbah and the group's candidate for the women's quota, Fatima Mousa. These attacks resulted in the arrest of five supporters of MB candidates and four others were injured.

The detainees are: Abdul Maqsoud Al Morshedi, Mustafa Abdel Moti, Hussein Lamloom, Ashraf Ammar, and Saleh Hosni.

The wounded have been recovered while Hussein Lamloom underwent an urgent CT scan, for fear of fractures.

The march, which mobilized more than about 3,000 MB members, began to move through a number of city squares in Kafr el-Sheikh. Supporters of MB candidates were severely beaten by security forces while chanting slogans against the state's repressive measures amid tight security.

Dr Hassan Abu Shoueshaa, head of the MB administrative office, has condemned the government's continued abuse of MB rallies at a time when NDP candidates are allowed to campaign freely and hang up their banners.
