Media spokesman for the Muslim Brotherhood, Dr Essam El-Erian, affirmed that the BBC and other TV satellite channels documented abuses committed against voters on Sunday.

In an interview today with BBC news, Dr El-Erian pointed out that the Muslim Brotherhood has picked up popular support despite irregularities, indicating the possibility that the Brotherhood will run-off from 20 to 25 seats.

El-Erian said that the Muslim Brotherhood had intended to contest seeking a stable political life, but massive fraud has destroyed whatever is left of democracy and the rule of law that shows no respect for judicial decisions.

He has maintained that the Brothers always resort to the judiciary, which he described as the last resort of the common people in the face of the voting irregularities that took place across the country.

El-Erian revealed that the Muslim Brotherhood will hold a press conference at the group's parliamentary headquarters in Cairo at 12:30 PM to discuss the vote rigging and irregularities of Sunday's parliamentary elections.

"Mubarak's regime ousted head of the Brotherhood's parliamentary bloc, Mohamed Saad Ketatni, and crossed off the vice-chair of the MB parliamentary bloc, Hussein Ibrahim, besides MB media speakers and secretary-generals, labelling it an attempt to create an obedient and quiet parliament that can not play its role after it lost its legislative role," said El-Erian.
