Morning Edition, January 2, 2007 · The Muslim Brotherhood was founded in Egypt more than 70 years ago. The organization has since grown into a powerful social and political movement in Egypt, spawning offshoots around the world. Followers are marking the centenary of the Brotherhood’s founder, Hassan al-Banna.
