Political forces in Egypt have stepped up their demands to take to the street on January 25 in conjunction with the celebration of Egypt's National Police, to protest what political forces see as «unacceptable practices by the Interior Ministry» demanding to regain their usurped rights.
 
A handful of political powers issued a statement calling for a Day of Rage prior to the scheduled date, while the Liberal Al-Wafd, left-wing Al-Tagummu, the Nasserist and the Muslim Brotherhood declined to sign on to a joint statement.
 
The statement issued yesterday, called for the “abolition of the Emergency Law, a minimum wage of 1200 L.E, payments for unemployed people, reduction of the prices of basic commodities and education that is able to develop the skills of young men and women ».
 
The statement signed by the Democratic Front, the Labor Party, Al Ghad, Al Karama (under construction), the Revolutionary Socialists, the Socialist Renewal Movement, Prospects for Socialism, the Popular Democratic Movement for Democratic Change (Hashd), Al-Kefaya, Youth for Justice and Freedom, the Free Front for Peaceful Chang and the National Association for Change. In the Bar Association, the National Association for Change called lawyers to participate in the Day of Rage demonstration on Tuesday, January 25.
 
Under the slogan «No to the State of Emergency», activists of April 6 Youth distributed about 20,000 pamphlets throughout the Egyptian governorates of Cairo, 6th of October city, Qaliubiya, Alexandria, Al-Gharbia and Damietta, urging youth to participate in protests scheduled for January 25 on Police (state) Day.
