A number of Facebook activists launched an e-campaign entitled "Nominating the martyrs of Egypt's peaceful revolution for 2011 Nobel Peace Prize”. The campaign aims at honouring the martyrs, their families and friends nationally and internationally through their nomination for the Nobel Prize as a means of moral and material support to them and their families.
The Facebook group posted images of the martyrs of January 25’s revolution and songs that mourn the martyrs. The admin of the group called for a website to be launched in all languages honouring the martyrs of the revolution, nominating them for national and international awards and documenting all the videos and pictures that have been taken of them prior to and during the revolution as well as constructing a statue commemorating the martyrs.
