These people are governing Egypt after the dictator Mubarak was ousted. They represent the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) that will be governing Egypt for the next six months according to the fifth statement by the SCAF.

Marshal Tantawi, Minister of Defence and Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces

*Born in 1935 and joined the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces in 1956

*Attained the rank of Marshal and has been the Minister of Defence and Military Production since 1991. 

*He has been the General Commander of the Armed Forces since 1995.

*He participated in three wars against Israel in the years: 1956, 1967, 1973.

*He was appointed as vice chairman of the Council of Ministers as well as Minister of Defence, after Mubarak sacked the government in a failed attempt to quell the protests on 29 January, 2011.

His seniority and military background led to speculation that he will run for the presidency, although some political analysts stated that he only enjoys little support from lower ranks in the armed forces.

Lt. General Sami Annan, Army Chief of Staff  

Sami Hafez Annan was born in Salamon Al-Qammash in Daqahleya governorate. He is the current Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces and he participated in the war between 1967 and October 1973.

He was appointed as a commander of the Air Defence Forces in July 2010. President Mubarak issued a decree to appoint him as Chief of Staff in 2005.

* He is specialized in many areas of Air Defence.

* He is a Missile Battalion Commander.  

*He competed a course in Air Defence in Russia. 

* He received accreditation status from the Faculty of National Defence, Nasser Military Academy.

* He received accreditation satus from the Faculty of Higher Military, Nasser Military Academy.

* He attended courses in the Air Defence field in France. 

His history in the military:

*He served as a Battalion Missile Commander in July 1981.

*He served as Defence Attache in Morocco in August 1990.

*He served as Brigade Commander inAugust 1992.

*He served as Air Force Divisional Commander in January 1996.

*He served as Chief of Air Defence Operations in July 1998.

*He served as Chief of Staff of the Air Defence Forces in January 2000.

*He served as Commander of the Air Defence Forces in 2001.

Annan is currently the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces and has been since 2005.

Lt. General Pilot Reda Mahmoud Hafez, Air Force Commander

He is the Commander of the Air Force. He was born in 1952 and graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1972 and participated in the war against Israel on 1973.

He received a military education, a bachelor in aviation and a masters in military science. He also obtained accreditation status from the Higher War College and an Accreditation status from Quality Managers in the US. 

He also obtained a senior course for senior leaders in the Nasser Military Academy and the Order of Military Duty.

He has been serving as a commander of the Air Force since 2008.

Lt. General Abdel Aziz Seif Eldeen, Commander of Air Defence

He was born in 1949 and graduated from the 70th division in the War College. He participated in the Attrition War and in the war in October 1973. He has occupied many military positions including:

*Missile Battalion Commander in 1988,

   *Brigade Air Defence in 1995,

   *Air Force Commander in 2000,

   * Head of the Air Force Defence Operations in 2001,

   * and, Commander of the Air Defence Forces since October 2005 until now.

Lt. General Mohab Mohamed Hussein Memesh, Commander of the Navy

He has been the commander of the Navy since 2007.

He completed a specilised Commander of Staff course from the Faculty of Leaders and Commanders of Staff and accreditation status from the Nasser Military Academy and a course in Senior Leaders from the Nasser Academy. He was appointed as a Commander of a Battalion, Missile Division, in July 1988, Commander of the Air Defence Brigade in July 1995, Commander of the Air Defence Force Division in January 2000, head of Air Defence Forces Operations in 2001 and Commander of Air Defence Forces since 2005 until now. 

He participated in the two wars of Attrition and in October 1973.

Major General A. H. Hassan Al-Roweini, Commander of Central Military in the Armed Forces

In his capacity as a commander of the Central Military of the Armed Forces, he signed the provisions of the 9th Military Tribunal of the Muslim Brotherhood. On 25 January, 2011, the Police Day which coincided with Egypt’s Day of Rage he was mandated by the Minister of Defence Hussein Tantawi to lay the flowers on the momentum of the martyrs of the police. 

On the 5th of February 2011, Major General Hassan Al-Roweini called on all the demonstrators to withdraw from their sit-in in Tahrir Square to save Egypt.

The Egyptian Prime Minister Lt. General Ahmed Shafik  

He graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1961.

He worked as a pilot fighter in the formation of fighting air forces.

He took command of the Air Brigade, Air Base, and as a head of the Air Security and Air Operations.

He worked as a War Attache in Italy from 1984 to 1986. He presided over the Air Staff in 1991 until he was appointed as a Commander of the Air Force in April 1996.

He has accreditation status from the Higher College of War, accreditation status from the college of National Defence from the Nasser Military Academy, accreditation from the Higher War College from Paris and a PhD in Philosophy in National Strategy in the field of outer space from Nasser Military Academy.
