Figures Governing Egypt Now
These people are governing Egypt after the dictator Mubarak was ousted. They represent the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) that will be governing Egypt for the next six months according to the fifth statement by the SCAF.

These people are governing Egypt after the dictator Mubarak was ousted. They represent the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) that will be governing Egypt for the next six months according to the fifth statement by the SCAF. Marshal Tantawi, Minister of Defence and Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces *Born in 1935 and joined the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces in 1956 *Attained the rank of Marshal and has been the Minister of Defence and Military Production since 1991. *He has been the General Commander of the Armed Forces since 1995. *He participated in three wars against Israel in the years: 1956, 1967, 1973. *He was appointed as vice chairman of the Council of Ministers as well as Minister of Defence, after Mubarak sacked the government in a failed attempt to quell the protests on 29 January, 2011. His seniority and military background led to speculation that he will run for the presidency, although some political analysts stated that he only enjoys little support from lower ranks in the armed forces. Lt. General Sami Annan, Army Chief of Staff Sami Hafez Annan was born in Salamon Al-Qammash in Daqahleya governorate. He is the current Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces and he participated in the war between 1967 and October 1973.
He was appointed as a commander of the Air Defence Forces in July 2010. President Mubarak issued a decree to appoint him as Chief of Staff in 2005.
Sami Hafez Annan was born in February 1948 and has achieved the rank of Chief of Staff. * He served as Commander of the Air Defence Forces.
*Brigade Air Defence in 1995, *Air Force Commander in 2000, * Head of the Air Force Defence Operations in 2001, * and, Commander of the Air Defence Forces since October 2005 until now.
