Major General Mansour Eisawy, security expert and former aid to the interior minister, has stressed that a decision to fire on demonstrators was not issued by Habib al-Adli, the former interior minister alone, but was taken as a result of instructions issued by Mubarak.
In "Baladna Bel Masry" (Our Country in Egyptian) TV show broadcast on ONTV Channel Major General al-Issawi said that the Interior Minister was not authorized to fire on demonstrators until he took recourse to the Supreme Commander of the police former President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak.
The decision to withdraw internal security forces from cities came after a telephone conversation took place between Mubarak and Habib Al-Adli, he said. |
