Reporters without borders denounce Iranian Authorities banning of crackdown coverage
A recent report published by Reporters without Borders on Friday April 22, condemned the use of force by the Iranian authorities to contain demonstrations a week ago in the south-western province of Arabistan and their ban on news coverage of the bloody clashes that took place. Both the national and international media were prevented from covering the incidents.

A recent report published by Reporters without Borders on Friday April 22, condemned the use of force by the Iranian authorities to contain demonstrations a week ago in the south-western province of Arabistan and their ban on news coverage of the bloody clashes that took place. Both the national and international media were prevented from covering the incidents. The crackdown has continued this week with several arrests of media contributors.

According to the report The Iranian government hypocritically defends freedom of information about the violence taking place in neighbouring countries such as Bahrain, where blood has been shed to crush anti-government demonstrations, but imposes a complete news blackout on the deadly clashes between members of the Arab minority and security forces in Arabistan, cutting it off from the rest of the world and denying access to both independent and state media reporters.

Calls were issued on the Internet and online social networks for demonstrations on 15 April in the provincial capital of Ahwaz to mark the sixth anniversary of the violent clashes that took place on 15 April 2005 between the security forces and members of the Arab community, who are the majority in province.

Members of the security forces fired live rounds into a spontaneous demonstration by young people on 14 April, killing three demonstrators. When the protests continued the next day, they were brutally crushed by Revolutionary Guards in several districts of the city including Haisohari, Coy Alvaieh and Cot Abdullah.

Round-ups of activists had already begun before the calls for demonstrations had been issued, and the arrests are continuing. According to some sources, at least 97 people are being held in prisons in and around Ahwaz, including Sepidar and Zyton (a secret detention centre controlled by the intelligence ministry).

Shirin Ebadi, the 2003 Nobel peace laureate, wrote to United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay on 18 April requesting her intervention. “We have no information about the fate of the prisoners,” she wrote. “The security forces have forced the families of the victims to remain silent”.

The facts of Ahwazi Arabs in Iran Ali Abojrah
I hope the virtuous writer to make sure some information in regards to Ahwaz Arabs who now live in Iran. First: the recent events did not break out just against the hard-line regime of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Ahwazi Arab people are a nation that had Arabic independent Emirate had many names through the history (Mohammara, Arabistan, Al- Ahwaz, ....), occupied by Iran in 25/04/1925, and the people resist this since then and so far against the occupation and to recover their national and humanitarian rights. II: The Arabs in Iran are not only the majority in Khuzestan, but also in Hormozgan and Bushehr, and also invite the author or any observer of the Iranian matter to go to these provinces to see a particular fact, despite the existence of a strong Persinasation policy against natives in the provinces mentioned above. Third: As you know, based on official statistic in Iran regime, 1997, the population of Khuzestan alone more than 4 million people and according to all documents Arabs constitute the majority in Khuzestan, and this means logically Arabs there are more than 2 million, plus the Arabs in Bushehr and in Hormozgan as well as Arabs who migrated in the war (Iran, Iraq:1980-1988) and Iran did not re-construct of their home areas in Khuzestan, and therefore remained in Iranian cities and did not return to Khuzestan. If you calculate the population of Arabs in Iran in this logical form shall be numbered even more than 5 million people, despite the fact that the census shows the real if the international community forced the Iranian government to count the hearts of non-Persian people in Iran to end all either. As for the Arabs of Ahwaz (Khuzestan, Bushehr, Hormozgan), they believe that their population are more than 8 million people, and based on the statistic that done by the former Iranian regime in 1966, which confirmed that the Arabs make up 2.6 million of the 26 million and this means more than 10% Iran's population are Arabs. But now and according to the official announcement of the population of Iran, about 80 million people and Ahwazi Arabs that they were by the logic of mathematics increased to over 8 million people. Khoozestan Mohammad
the name of the province is Khoozestan. there are Lor, Fars and Arab over there. if you want to be a fair Muslim so you should not lie. almost Fars is the majority in the province however Arabs are second majority in this province but the truth is most of Arabs don't take participation these tumults which are took place by some Saudi backed sectarian. all of us are Muslim and Brother. We should not have conflict with each other and make happy Zionists and Saudi royal family who are a Israeli puppet
