Arab League Secretary Amr Mousa has stated that if he was elected as Egypt’s next President he would break with former President Hosni Mubarak's reliably amenable policies toward Israel.

In the Wall Street Journal Matt Bradley writes that Mousa said the former regime's attempts to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict had "led nowhere". According to Mousa Egypt now needs policies that reflect the consensus and will of the people.

The article cites Mousa as describing the potentiality of a political platform in which Mubarak’s strongest and most organized opposition the Muslim Brotherhood being dominant.

Mr Musa, The problem is your usage of "if", it never get materializes. We know your policies and past handling. After all you are a born and bred pan Arab secularist. You never spoke on behalf of Muslims and Islam but always uttered typical Mubarak style cunning words against Israel and US. We did not forget what happened in Davos. Neither you utter a word against Shimon Pares nor left the stage with Turkish prime minister. It was a utter shame to Arabs and Egypt. Sorry to say Mr Musa, I will not support MB if they decide to support you in the election. Current interim prime minister of Egypt looks more matured for that post than you and Mr Elbaradei. He has empathy and he can feel what others feels. Keep in mind' Egypt is Muslim and Islamic so all other stuffs are secondary to Egyptians.
