The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt vehemently condemns the Saturday Imbaba clashes between Copts and Muslims, which took the lives of 9 and injured over 110, according to early reports.

The MB shares the people's sadness and disappointment, and its thoughts and prayers are with the victims' families. It calls for the instigators of this violence to be immediately brought to justice. The MB affirms that the respect to the rule of law must be enforced by authorities, and those violators must be severely punished to attain security badly needed to rebuild the country during this critical time of its history.

Speaking to Ikhwanweb MB leader Sayed el-Nazili denounced the attacks stressing that these acts aimed at countering the revolution are rejected by the MB. He called for the continued unity of Muslims and Copts against these attempts stressing that as one they will hamper it.
