Addressing crowds in a symposium at the General Egypt Library in Damanhour, Beheira Amr al-Shobaki, an expert in the Ahram Centre for Political and strategic studies covered numerous issues

He stated that despite there being members of the former ruling National Democratic Party who forged votes in the former parliamentary elections it was imperative we support the noble politicians. He stressed criminalizing the process of buying votes which was widespread during the former regime was imperative. Shobaki also argued that  there are more than one million NDP members who cannot be ignored from political life stressing their exclusion would be a violation of Egypt's January 25 Revolution.

Referring to the upcoming elections Shobaki stated that he believed the newly formed Muslim Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party will not win more than 50 percent in the upcoming elections. He refused the notion of postponing the parliamentary election for an entire year stressing this decision would not benefit Egypt .

Guest speakers included Political Science professor at the Cairo University , Hassan Nafaa who outlined the causes of the fall of the former regime. He blamed tyranny, corruption, social injustice and Egypt ’s collapsing regional role as being responsible for Mubarak and his henchmen's downfall.

He called for all powers to unite and solidify efforts in building the regime for a new Egypt , and respect the Egyptians’ will. He stressed that the political divisions making the process of building a new regime a difficult one must be overcome adding that achieving democracy and social justice should be the aim of all political and national powers.
