Vice Chairman of the Muslim Brotherhood Mahmoud Ezzat welcomed the decision by the ruling military council to drop charges against Asmaa Mahfouz and Loay Nagaty, the two revolutionary activists charged with defaming  the military and inciting violence against its members.

"The Muslim Brotherhood values that decision," Ezzat said in a statement, expressing the MB's hope that this decision is the start of cancelling all military tribunals against civilians. Military courts must only be in charge of crimes committed by military personnel, he added.

The Freedom and Justice Party denounced military tribunals Tuesday, and called for referring civilians defendants only to civilian courts.
