After five months behind bars, eight Muslim Brotherhood teachers were released on Sunday 3/11/ 2006, after a southern Cairo court closed the file of " the teachers case".

The eight teachers were the last to be released of a group of 27 teachers who were arrested by the State Security Police in the coastal city of Ras El Bar. The State Security Police arrested the 27 Muslim Brotherhood members in Ras Al-Bar on Saturday 8/7/2006 and seized some computers, discs and "Data Show" system and some belongings; they detainees belong to 17 governorates.
 
The court acquitted 19 of the Muslim Brotherhood detainees in the same case in previous times; the eight teachers who were released yesterday include Mostafa Salim and Ahmed Al-Halawani .
 
For his part, the Muslim Brotherhood’s lawyer, Abdul Monem Abdul Maqsoud said: the latest ruling of acquitting the eight MB members is a good step although it was late, as the teachers spent something similar to a prison sentence after they were jailed for five months, specially that these teachers did not commit any crime, but they exercised their natural right of gathering which is protected by the constitution.
