Last Thursday (20/October/2011), the Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) rolled out the first (test run) edition of its newspaper, bearing the party's name. The paper’s Chairman is Dr. Mohamed Morsi (Chairman of the FJP), its editor-in-chief is Adel Al Ansari, while serving as managing editors are Alaa Al Bahhar, Hassan Makki, Ahmed Ghanem and Mustafa Mohammad.

In its first print edition, the newspaper published candidate lists of the Democratic Alliance for the approaching elections. The paper’s front page included a statement by a Hamas leader, in which he revealed that the former Egyptian president, Hosni Mubarak, demanded Hamas should free Shalit for nothing in return.

The "Freedom and Justice" Newspaper, also published an exclusive interview with Mrs Jehan Sadat, wife of the late President Anwar Sadat, conducted by MB journalist and activist Mohammed Abdul Quddus. In the interview, Jehan expressed a wish for the Muslim Brotherhood to become more like (Turkish PM) Erdogan's party, denied allegations that she was against the hijab (Islamic veil), and indicated that she never objected or prevented her grandchildren from wearing the hijab.

The newspaper published another exclusive: a special article by Dr. Yusuf Qaradawi, head of the International Union for Muslim Scholars.

In an exclusive statement to Ikhwanweb, Ahmed Ghanem (managing editor of the newspaper) said that the journal will be printed in the next few days and will be substantial food for thought for Egyptian reader, with full commitment to professional rules, pointing out that the paper boasts a number of outstanding young journalists.
