Clinton: US Will Work With Islamists If Elected to Power

Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, threw her confidence behind the ruling Military Council in Egypt during an interview with the Egyptian Al Hayat TV on Saturday, expressing her satisfaction with its performance while transitioning Egypt to full democracy during a critical time.

Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, threw her confidence behind the ruling Military Council in Egypt during an interview with the Egyptian Al Hayat TV on Saturday, expressing her satisfaction with its performance while transitioning Egypt to full democracy during a critical time. Clinton voiced her confidence the SCAF will fulfill its promises to the Egyptian people during the January 25 Revolution and will hand over power to civilian government following elections.

Clinton reiterated US commitment to work with any elected government as long as it represents the Egyptian people and abide by democratic principles, even if included members of the Muslim Brotherhood or its Freedom and Justice Party.
