FJP Receives Nigerian Ambassador to Cairo, Stresses Vital Relations With Africa
Freedom and Justice Party, (FJP) Vice Chairman, Dr. Essam Al Erian, received on Monday Nigeria’s Ambassador to Cairo Mr. Baba Jana Wakeel. During the meeting, the ambassador congratulated the FJP for its lead in the parliamentary elections thus far.

Freedom and Justice Party, (FJP) Vice Chairman, Dr. Essam Al Erian, received on Monday Nigeria’s Ambassador to Cairo Mr. Baba Jana Wakeel. During the meeting, the ambassador congratulated the FJP for its lead in the parliamentary elections thus far.
 
“It is pleasing to see Egypt experience democracy witnessed during the elections and people taking to the ballots expressing their will”, he said.

For his part, Al Erian stated that congratulations should be extended to the Egyption people who abandoned their apathy and insisted that democracy prevail in order to develop and build their country

Regarding Egypt’s foreign relations with Africa and the world, El Erian confirmed that FJP encourages balanced bi-lateral relations in particular with the larger states such as Nigeria, South Africa, Ethiopia and the Nile Basin states. He added: “The former regime neglected to develop relations with the African countries and was preoccupied with expanding unbalanced relations with other nations”. 

He continued: “Egypt is popular among the African nations supporting their liberation and democracy”.

In response to the FJP’s status regarding the presidential elections he said: “We do not favour any presidential candidate and the party will not be fielding in the upcoming presidential election”.
