Beltagy: Violence Against Protesters Must Stop Before Discussing Presidential Elections
Dr. Mohamed Beltagy, member of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) Executive Office, emphasized that rushing into talks about the next president being head of PA or others, will hinder the progress of current elections to completion and increase the arguments and differences “that distract us from the path of democratic transformation and the transfer of power to an elected civilian authority.”

In a statement to IkhwanWeb, Dr. Beltagy said that putting this issue to the coming parliament would be best, since Parliament is the authority meant to discuss the mechanisms for selecting the next president. He expressed his total refusal to raise political agenda issues at the expense of the homeland’s security and stability.

Dr. Beltagy stressed that the way to restore Egypt's stability, now, is through stopping bloodshed and violence completely, and referring all military and security leaders to speedy trials for the crimes committed against Egypt’ young girls and boys in recent events.
