El-Erian Calls for Prosecution of Minister of The Interior

Dr. Essam El-Erian stressed that, “We need to take concrete steps, as a democratically elected institution whose performance is watched closely by the people”, pointing to the survival of the Interior Ministry’s senior leadership in power, and that they are complicit with the gang now detained in Tora prison.

Dr. Essam El-Erian stressed that, “We need to take concrete steps, as a democratically elected institution whose performance is watched closely by the people”, pointing to the survival of the Interior Ministry’s senior leadership in power, and that they are complicit with the gang now detained in Tora prison.

Dr. El-Erian accused the Interior Minister of negligence in the performance of his work – which includes the state of security chaos and disorder, and the sequence of events shedding the blood of the people, and the insistence of the Minister on speaking in the parliament.

Dr. El-Erian presented to parliament a request for prosecution of the Interior Minister on charges of negligence, based on the provisions of Articles 245 and 246 of the Regulations on making charges against government ministers, a request that carried the signatures of more than 120 MPs.
