The Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Affairs at the Egyptian People's Assembly in its meeting today, under the chairmanship of Subhi Saleh, the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) leader and the Committee’s Deputy, approved a draft law amending some provisions of the Code of Military Justice No. 25 of 1966, submitted by the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces.

The amendment abolishes Article 6 of the Act, which allows the president to refer civilians to military courts.
