Dr. Morsi: Freedom and Justice Party Respects Verdict on Constituent Assembly
Cairo – Tuesday: An Egyptian court issued an injunction blocking the function of the constitutional assembly set up by the country’s parliament and boycotted by most liberals.

Dr. Mohamed Morsi, Chairman of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), expressed the party’s respect for all decisions of the Egyptian judiciary, including the ruling issued by the Administrative Court today to halt the formation of the Constituent Assembly tasked with writing the country’s new constitution. In a press statement, Dr. Morsi denied claims that the FJP challenged today’s ruling, explaining that the FJP is not a party in this particular dispute. Meanwhile, he underscored the FJP’s determination to cooperate with all political forces and parties in writing a national charter that reflects all the hues, establishments and denominations of the Egyptian people.
