In a statement to the media, Yasser Ali, Dr. Morsi campaign’s manager, hailed all honorable electoral campaigns such as the campaigns of Abul Fotouh and Hamdeen, pointing out that: "The second round will see better results. We will achieve what the Egyptian people deserve and hope for.

"We cannot compare the voting bloc in the parliamentary elections against the voting bloc in the presidential elections. For one thing, the presidential elections had candidates sharing the same ideological orientation and leanings, which led to major fragmentation of the ballot. So, the counter-revolution candidate managed to get a large percentage of the vote."

Yasser pointed out that, "Although Dr. Morsi’s campaign was launched a whole year later than the rest of presidential candidates, it managed to garner the votes of more than 5 million Egyptians and presented our program to all".

Yasser affirmed that, in the presidential elections runoff, the great people of Egypt will not allow anyone to restore the Mubarak regime with any new faces, and that what happened in the first round – of confusion due to the presence of candidates from the same school – will not happen in the second round.

"We will persist, more steadfast than ever, on the path of democracy. The noble people of this homeland will not allow a concocted re-production of the Mubarak regime yet again."
