Dr. Essam El-Erian, Vice Chairman of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), expressed his great hope that the new Libyan Parliament will pass the first test of democracy by forming a constitution-writing panel, and enacting essential laws in order to establish a genuine democratic system.

In a blog post on his Twitter account, Erian called on the Justice and Construction Party under the leadership of Mohamed Sawan to win the confidence of the Libyan people, and form – with other parties and independents – a powerful bloc, for a powerful Parliament.

Erian said he hoped this new experience for the Libyan people – who started the General National Congress election abroad and at home – would be a good omen for the country and its people.
